About Copy…
Copy is a Tabby NetMail-compatible utility designed to take a snapshot of
any text file before it's been processed by Tabby. To set it up, do the
following:
1> Use ResEdit to modify STR resources 500-502 as follows:
STR 500 contains the name of your Host application
STR 501 contains the name of the file to be copied
STR 502 contains the name of the copy
Then insert the Copy application in your Tabby Event chain, just before
your target file is modified. In my case, I use it to take snapshots of
Generic Export and Generic Import, so I run two copies of it, one just
after TabbyNet DeliverMail and one just before TabbyNet Sendmail and
TabbyNet Sendnews.
Copy appends the date and time to the copies it makes, so they don't
overwrite each other and they also give you a chronological trail to
follow. You can have Copy save the files to a separate volume or folder
by including a proper path in the name of the copy.
You can also use Copy to back up text files (it works *only* on text
files) such as the CallerLog, though it's not the most efficient backup
utility since it creates so many separate files.
Copy was written in LightSpeed Pascal.
